Huang pledges commitment to enhancing unity

KUCHING: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii received formal invitations to two upcoming events from Chinese associations during recent courtesy visits on Monday.

One of the visits was led by Sarawak 3rd, 6th, and 7th Division Ling Clan Association (Sarikei Branch) chairman Ling Kuong Kiu who invited Huang to be the guest of honour at the Mid-Autumn Festival dinner celebration on September 26.

The event will be held at 6:00 pm at the Grand Empire Palace Restaurant in Sarikei.

Another courtesy visit was made by Sarikei Division Billiards Association chairman Elvis Wong Teck Chuan, who extended an invitation to Huang to officiate the opening ceremony of the Sarawak Closed Snooker Championship 2025.

The championship is scheduled for July 16, 6:00 pm, at Cue Club Repok, Sarikei.

Huang, who also serves as Repok assemblyman, contributed financial support to the event.


As the Sarikei MP, Huang places great importance on the well-being of the Chinese community.


He is attentive to the needs of various associations and actively encourages and supports their development efforts, especially in the fields of education, culture and community organisation.


These efforts are part of his ongoing commitment to strengthening unity and cooperation within the Chinese community.


Ling and Wong each expressed their appreciation for the continuous support provided by Huang, which has enabled programmes and activities to be carried out more smoothly and successfully.


They also took the opportunity to engage in friendly discussions and exchange views with Huang.
