BINTULU: Over 1,000 participants enlivened the Bintulu Cops Run 2025 which took place at the Farley here yesterday, showcasing the spirit of unity, healthy lifestyle and close ties between the police and the community.

The event was jointly organised by the Royal Malaysian Police, OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (OM Sarawak) and Farley, featuring three running categories – 10 km Open (Men), 10 km Open (Women) and 5 km Fun Run.

In a statement, OM Sarawak said although the two main categories offered prizes to the top three winners, the overall atmosphere remained lively and inclusive, with participants from all ages and fitness levels.

The event began with a speech by Bintulu District Police Chief, Superintendent Nixon Joshua Ali, before continuing with the run flag-off ceremony.

The sponsorship by OM Sarawak was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, reflecting their commitment to fostering a healthy lifestyle and strengthening relationships between the community and the authorities.

Participants were also treated to complimentary drinks from the popular Milo truck and a chance to win various exciting prizes through lucky draws – adding to the excitement of the event.

“Our support for the Bintulu Cops Run reflects our ongoing commitment to impactful CSR efforts – not merely through sponsorship, but by cultivating meaningful relationships with the community and law enforcement,” said OM Sarawak.

The event ended on a high note, uniting participants in a spirit of brotherhood, smiles and shared memories.

Also present were invited guests from police force, OM Sarawak and other local agencies which highlighted the close collaboration between the organisers and the local community.
