MIRI: The Pullman Waterfront Miri buzzed with activity this weekend as hundreds of Sarawakian students flocked to the fourth annual Education, Career and Entrepreneur Fair.

Organised by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau Service Centre and officiated by Tourism, Arts and Culture Deputy Minister, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, the three-day event (April 25-27) provided a crucial link between aspiring young professionals and potential employers and educational institutions.

Over 40 academic institutions showcased their programmes, while 20 companies offered insights into various career paths.

JobSarawak, the state government’s employment initiative, played a prominent role, facilitating connections between students and prospective employers and providing career guidance.

Ting expressed his satisfaction with the fair’s success, stating that it provided a vital platform for Sarawakian youth to make informed decisions about their future.

He highlighted the collaborative effort between key partners, including PERKESO, MMS Miri and JCI Riam Chapter, emphasising the shared commitment to developing a highly skilled workforce for the state.

The fair’s success underlines the Sarawak government’s ongoing commitment to investing in its young people and shaping a prosperous future for the state.
