SARATOK: An elderly couple sustained injuries in a collision at Saratok junction along the Sri Aman-Sarikei Highway this afternoon (Mar 24).
The accident, involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a motorcycle, occurred at around 12.15pm in front of Wadira Food Court.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Saratok station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Upon arrival, they found that the elderly rider sustained facial injuries while his wife, was riding pillion, sustained leg injuries. The MPV driver, on the other hand, escaped unharmed.
Both injured victims, whose ages were not known, were transported to Saratok Hospital for further medical treatment.
Once the situation was deemed safe for other road users, the team ended the operation at 12.40pm.
