KUCHING: A significant milestone for education in Sarawak was achieved today as i-CATS College University hosted the exchange ceremony for Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and Letters of Intent (LOIs) with 22 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions and 15 industry partners across the state.

The event was attended and witnessed by Sarawak Education, Innovation and Talent Development Deputy Minister, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, at i-CATS College University.

“Today’s signing is the beginning of a very important milestone in our determination to make sure that Sarawak becomes a developed country with high income, low carbon emissions, and green technology,” he said.

“I hope this can become an example to the other three universities in Sarawak so that they can follow suit and ensure we provide an alternative pathway for our younger generation, not only at the diploma level but also at Bachelor’s and postgraduate levels.”

The collaboration will benefit TVET students by providing a pathway for diploma holders from various institutions to further their studies, and pursue Bachelor’s degrees in technical fields offered by i-CATS University College (UC).
