ISTANBUL, Turkiye: I-CATS University College signed a landmark collaboration with Istanbul Teknik University (ITU) to advance aerospace education, research and talent development, supporting Sarawak’s ambition to become a regional hub for aerospace and high-technology industries.
The partnership underscores i-CATS’ mission to broaden international collaborations and strengthen global expertise in aerospace, thereby opening doors for students and researchers to gain world-class exposure.
Under the agreement, both institutions will work closely across several key areas.
Graduate students in Astronautical Engineering will have opportunities to participate in student exchange programmes, gaining invaluable international experience.
In addition, collaborative research projects will address emerging challenges in aerospace and related fields, while the exchange of scientific materials and information will drive innovation and the advancement of knowledge.
Academic visits and faculty exchanges will also deepen ties between the two universities and foster cross-learning, hence enhancing capacity and expanding expertise.
The partnership also covers talent exchange initiatives, including specialised training for i-CATS lecturers at ITU to further enhance their expertise in aerospace education and research, ultimately enriching the quality of teaching and mentorship for Sarawak’s next generation of aerospace professionals.
Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Datuk Husain, Chairman of the Board of Directors of i-CATS University College, described the collaboration as a key milestone in the university’s drive to become a leader in aerospace education and research.
