Ibrahim presents aids to flood victims at evacuation centre

KUCHING: Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS) Datuk Ibrahim Baki yesterday visited flood victims at the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at Masjid Darul Istiqlaal, Kampung Sungai Maong.

During the half-hour visit, Ibrahim, who is also the Satok assemblyman, took the opportunity to engage with flood victims sheltering at the PPS.

At the same time, he also presented contributions to the heads of households from 26 families who have been evacuated to the centre.

For the record, the PPS at Masjid Darul Istiqlaal, Kampung Sungai Maong, which was opened on Friday, currently housed a total of 128 flood victims from 26 families. The demographic comprises 70 adults, 41 children, 16 senior citizens and one infant.

Also present during the visit were the Political Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister Irwan Zulkarnain Muhammad Hasbie, and Ketua Kampung Sungai Maong, Masni Morri.
