KUCHING: iCATS University College (iCATS) has formalised a strategic partnership with global education provider, Emeritus Institute of Management (Emeritus) to expand executive education and professional development opportunities in Sarawak.
The alliance was marked by the exchange of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) at a ceremony held at a leading hotel in Kuching today (Jun 23), aimed at supporting talent development and lifelong learning.
Vice Chancellor of iCATS University College, Professor Emeritus Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohamad Kadim Suaidi said the partnership reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening human capital development.
“This collaboration with Emeritus reflects iCATS University College’s commitment to strengthening talent development in Sarawak by providing access to high-quality and globally relevant executive education,” he said at the MoA exchange ceremony at Sheraton Hotel.
He asserted that Sarawak’s ongoing economic transformation and push towards higher-value industries require a workforce equipped with relevant knowledge, skills and the right mindset.
Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate on executive education programmes, professional certificates, customised learning solutions and industry-focused capacity-building initiatives for Sarawak’s workforce.
Mohamad Kadim added that such initiatives would help prepare executives, professionals and future leaders to address increasingly complex organisational and industry demands.
“The partnership will focus on expanding access to globally recognised programmes covering leadership, management, business transformation, digital capability, analytics, innovation and organisational effectiveness.
“Both organisations will also explore customised learning programmes tailored to the evolving needs of government agencies, government-linked companies, private enterprises and industry associations.
As part of the collaboration, iCATS will oversee programme alignment with Sarawak’s human capital priorities and industry requirements, while Emeritus will provide learning content, delivery support, monitoring and certification services.
“The initiative further strengthens iCATS’ role as a Sarawak Government-owned university institution supporting workforce development, innovation and the state’s long-term strategic growth agenda,” he said.
