KUCHING: Identical female twins Ju Leanne Jayna Subramani and Joy Anna Jayne Subramani were the first Sarawakian newborns to receive the RM1000 Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS) yesterday.

Born on January 2 this year, Ju and Joy are the third and fourth child of Deebak Subramani,  35,   and Falisca Sanatha,  35, respectively.

The twins’ mother Falisca said she was thankful to the Sarawak government for the RM1,000 one-off incentive.

“This is something we truly appreciate from the government because it will help in our children’s future savings.

“We also don’t know how our economy will be in the future.

“These savings will lessen our burden in future,” she told reporters during the EFS launching and presentation ceremony at a hotel here yesterday.

“When the savings mature, we will cash them for our twins’ education or other uses,” added Falisca.
