KUALA LUMPUR: IMMERSE KL x CelcomDigi has been launched as Malaysia’s new flagship event for immersive technology and creative content innovation.
Organised by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in collaboration with CelcomDigi, the event is themed ‘Dive into the Future: Envisioning Creative Tech and the Metaverse’.
It highlights the country’s growing interest in extended reality (XR), virtual production, gamification, immersive storytelling, and Web3 as tools for cross-sector adoption of emerging technologies.
Now operating as a standalone platform, MDEC Chief Executive Officer, Anuar Fariz Fadzil, explained that IMMERSE KL was previously part of the Malaysia Digital Content Festival (MYDCF).
The 2025 edition, he added, is expected to attract more than 300 participants and 120 companies from Malaysia and across the region.
“IMMERSE KL x CelcomDigi is a catalyst for digital innovation, positioning Malaysia as a leader in the immersive tech landscape. With partners like CelcomDigi, we are shaping a future driven by creativity and emerging technology,” he said.
Meanwhile, CelcomDigi Chief Innovation Officer, T. Kugan, said that CelcomDigi, the official partner for the event, will present real-world use cases of XR and 5G across multiple sectors, including education, industry, and healthcare.
He shared that these include immersive learning environments under its CelcomDigi Metaversity, industrial applications such as training and remote support, and medical tools using XR-based 3D DICOM visualisation.
“We are excited to support IMMERSE KL x CelcomDigi as a platform to spark innovation, collaboration, and new possibilities for Malaysia’s digital future.
“This reflects our commitment to leading the development of future-ready XR solutions that enable real impact across industries,” he said.
