KUCHING: Ops Mahir saw 63 foreign nationals arrested at two construction sites in Padungan here on Friday (Jan 16).
The arrests were made during an enforcement operation mounted by the Kuching Immigration Enforcement Division to curb immigration offences involving undocumented foreign workers.
A total of 31 immigration enforcement officers were deployed in the operation, which targeted two construction sites in the Padungan area.
During the raid, officers conducted thorough inspections and searches across the sites to locate foreign nationals who attempted to hide or evade arrest.


All 63 foreign nationals were detained for allegedly working and staying in the country without valid travel documents or passes.
Those arrested were taken to the Immigration Office for further investigation and action under existing immigration laws.
The Immigration Department assured that enforcement operations would continue to ensure compliance with immigration laws and to safeguard public order and national security.
