BETONG: The Sarawak Immigration Department arrested 15 individuals of various foreign nationalities, including two women, in different districts on Monday (Nov 11).
The operation, which targeted eateries in towns and villages, was carried out in Pusa and Maludam.
Acting on public complaints and intelligence gathered, the Kuching and Sarikei Immigration Enforcement Units examined a total of 25 individuals regarding their documentation.
Of these, 15 were taken into custody for overstaying, lacking valid travel documents, and not having valid permits to stay in Malaysia.
The foreign detainees, comprising 13 men and two women, are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
The public is encouraged to report any information regarding the presence of undocumented migrants in their areas through online channels or directly to the nearest Immigration Enforcement Office.
