SARATOK: The implementing agency must redouble its efforts to resolve the issues for three projects worth RM35 million to ensure they can be implemented immediately.
Krian assemblyman Friday Belik said he had held further discussions on several projects under the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) that require special attention.
“The Saratok Sports Complex, Community and Heritage Development Center, and the Nanga Budu Administration Centre upgrade project, totaling RM35 million, require a high level of commitment to finalising settlement matters.
“Therefore, the implementing agency must intensify its efforts, especially since these BDDA projects were approved by the government some time ago,” he said after a meeting.
In a separate development, he announced that the Sarawak government had approved a water supply project for Brayang, Mudong, and Ulu Sebetan near Roban.
He described it as good news for about 400 households in the area.
“I hope this crucial project can commence in the second quarter of this year,” he stressed.
Friday added that once completed, the project would provide nearly 100 per cent of longhouse residents in DUN Krian with access to clean, treated water.
“This will indirectly enhance the quality of life for residents in the area.
“I am committed to bringing more development to Krian, but strong support from the people is essential,” he added.
