KUCHING: A delegation from the Ministry of Public Utilities participated in the Gastech Conference held in Tokyo, Japan.

The delegation, led by the Minister of Public Utilities, Dato’ Sri Stephen Rundi Utom, included Assistant Minister of Public Utilities (Water Supply), Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Assistant Minister for Public Utilities (Electricity and Telecommunications), Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Public Utilities, Ir. Alice Jawan Empaling and Director of Utilities, Cho Kwong Ming.

The delegates’ involvement with the conference was to gain inputs and share on gas distributions for cities and the community.

The ministry hopes to make use of the knowledge gained during the conference to formulate regulations, strategies and effective systems for efficient gas distribution in Sarawak.

Hence, the ministry hopes to embark on the usage of the direct gas piping system to households and industrial estates.
