KUCHING: Nominations are now open for the 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (EOYS), which celebrates its 20th edition this year.
The programme aims to honour entrepreneurial talent that drives economic progress, fosters innovation, and demonstrates leadership across the state.
Since its inception in 2004, the EOYS has recognised more than 80 outstanding individuals.
It is jointly organised by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment, the Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), and EY.
The focus of the awards is on the entrepreneur rather than the business.
Judges will assess leadership, risk-taking, resilience, ESG efforts, and the ability to harness modern technology to transform operations.
Three award categories are open this year.
These include entrepreneurs under 35 or with businesses between three and five years old, founders who have led companies for more than five years with a track record of excellence, and those running successful ventures beyond Sarawak, either in other parts of Malaysia or abroad.
More than just a title, the EOYS offers recipients national exposure, valuable networking opportunities, and potential selection to represent Sarawak at the Malaysia EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Past recipient videos dating back to 2015 are available on SCCI’s YouTube channel.
Nominations must be submitted to the SCCI Secretariat by August 15, either through business associations or directly.
