KUCHING: The inaugural Pikabol Podium Challenge Edition 1.0 proved to be an overwhelming success, with 168 players lighting up the court and showcasing their skill and passion for pickleball.

In the fiercely competitive Men’s Doubles Open, Razmee Rawi and Abg Nazreen Firdaus Azahari emerged victorious over Alex Ting Khoon Kiong and Kenneth Tan Kwang Sin.

Patrick Siqueen and Christopher Bishop claimed the top spot in the Master’s Men’s Doubles, after defeating Zukrie Safian and Malek Pawi.

On the women’s side, the Novice Doubles title went to the dynamic duo of Nur Ariqah Mohd Rejab and Arrisa Natasha Aliau, who overcame Glenys Tan and Yong Wee Yen.

The Men’s Novice Doubles was dominated by Ferdinand Bantin Solomon and Chen Khian Pin, who were victorious over Mohammad Hafizi Poniman and Zarul Fiqri.

Tournament director Coach Ujai expressed his excitement over the tremendous success of the one-day tournament held on Sunday (Feb 23).

“A huge thank you to each and every one of you for making the Pikabol Podium Challenge Edition 1.0 a resounding success.

“With an overwhelming number of 168 players, the event was filled with exciting matches, great sportsmanship, and an amazing spirit of pickleball,” he said in a statement on Monday (Feb 24).

Ujai pointed out that the competition wasn’t just about the game—it was about uniting the community, pushing each other’s limits, and celebrating the game that everyone loves.
