SIBU: An Indian national is feared drowned after he fell from a sand dredging boat into the Rajang River here yesterday morning.
It was understood that the incident occurred at around 8.50am and the victim was identified as Uday Ranjan, 19.
Uday’s colleagues who witnessed the incident alerted their skipper who then lodged a report at Lanang Police Station.
A search and rescue (SAR) team comprising the police and firemen rushed to the location and mounted a search operation for the foreigner.
