JAKARTA: Indonesia’s non-subsidised Pertamax RON92 petrol has risen by about 32 per cent to Rp16,250 (about RM3.64) per litre from Rp12,300, effective Wednesday, marking its first price increase in months.

State-owned energy company PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun said the increase also saw the price of Pertamax Green 95 rise to Rp17,000 (about RM3.81) per litre from Rp12,900.

He said prices of subsidised Pertalite (RON90) and Biosolar (CN48) remained unchanged at Rp10,000 and Rp6,800 per litre, respectively.

“The adjustment of Pertamax and Pertamax Green prices was carried out following an evaluation process based on the pricing formula established by the government.

“The selling prices were determined in coordination with the government as regulator, and are part of efforts to ensure the continued supply and distribution of quality fuels to the public,” he said in a statement, late Tuesday.

Roberth said the adjustment was carried out through Pertamina’s regular evaluation mechanism, taking into account developments in global oil prices and prevailing market conditions.

He said adjustments to non-subsidised fuel prices were implemented in accordance with prevailing regulations, and formed part of efforts to maintain a balance between business sustainability, service quality, and certainty of energy supply.

“We ensure that supplies of Pertamax and Pertamax Green remain secure and available across Pertamina’s fuel station network,” he said.

Roberth said prices of other non-subsidised fuels remained unchanged, with Pertamax Turbo (RON98) staying at Rp20,750 per litre, Dexlite (CN51) at Rp23,000 per litre, and Pertamina Dex (CN53) at Rp24,800 per litre. – BERNAMA
