JAKARTA, Indonesia: Indonesia has temporarily suspended all outbound international flights as a precautionary measure in response to the escalating conflict in West Asia.
State Secretariat Minister, Prasetyo Hadi, said all international air travel plans are currently on hold following the government’s decision.
“All are on hold. On hold,” he told reporters after attending a coordination meeting on the President’s Priority Programme on Tuesday, according to ANTARA News Agency.
He said the government has yet to determine when flight operations would resume, noting that the suspension would remain in effect until conditions are deemed safe for both national and international airlines.
“Yes, until an unspecified time limit,” he said.
Prasetyo said the move was a direct response to the worsening security situation in Iran, adding that the decision was made to ensure the safety of Indonesian citizens.
He also said the measure aims to prevent potentially fatal risks arising from geopolitical tensions along global flight routes. – BERNAMA
