KUCHING: Insights Analytics BHd has partnered with the Sarawak Artificial Intelligence Centre Sdn Bhd (SAIC) to boost the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies across Sarawak’s key industries.
Witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that they signed outlines cooperation in applying AI and digital twin technologies across Sarawak’s key industries, including energy, water, construction, transport, and agriculture.
“The initiative is part of efforts to expand the use of data-driven systems and support industrial efficiency,” it said.
It added that the two organisations will develop sovereign AI platforms and analytics tools suited to local needs.
The two organisations also plan to launch pilot projects, demonstration sites, and training programmes to build technical capacity and promote wider adoption.
Under the agreement, SAIC will provide research infrastructure, facilities, and institutional backing, working with government agencies, universities, and industry players to align regulations and policies.
Insights Analytics, which is preparing for an ACE Market listing, will offer its technical expertise, proprietary platforms, and research and development capabilities, and lead efforts to bring the solutions to market.
Commenting on this, Insights Analytics managing director Frank Wee said the partnership underscores the company’s commitment to advancing homegrown innovation in line with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2030).
“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our journey to build sovereign AI capabilities for Sarawak.
“By combining our technological innovation with SAIC’s institutional strength, we aim to accelerate the adoption of AI and digital twin technologies that drive efficiency, sustainability and smarter decision-making across industries,” he said.
