KOTA SAMARAHAN: The drainage system issues have been identified as one of the main causes of flooding in Kampung Plaie and Kampung Jegoi, which warrant serious attention during a site visit conducted on Monday (Jan 5).
The visit was led by the Samarahan Division Resident’s Office and was attended by Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, together with Special Administrative officer of the Integrated Regional Samarahan Development Agency (IRSDA), Anuar Da’an.
The inspection focused on assessing the condition of the drainage and irrigation systems in both villages, which were affected by flooding last week.
This included identifying the causes of disrupted water flow that led to overflow and water retention in residential areas.
Findings from the site visit will serve as an important basis for formulating more comprehensive and effective follow-up measures.
These efforts will particularly involve improvements to the drainage system to reduce the risk of recurring floods in the future.
