KUCHING: The top leaders of International NGO are expected to make a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to brief him on issues related to the release of 47 Malaysians that
were detained in Banteay Meanchey prison, Cambodia last February.

The detainees — 40 Sarawakians, three Sabahans and four Malayans — were imprisoned for two months since Dec 16, 2018 after their arrest on Dec 11 for alleged involvement in running an online gambling enterprise.

They were initially offered jobs in Cambodia that would supposedly pay US$1,500 per person per month.
