International NGOs urged to address social development issues

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar today met with the chairman of an International Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Datuk Dr Mustapha Ahmad S. Marican who is an adjunct Professor at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).

The meeting, held at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, focused on the critical role of international NGOs in social development, strengthening university volunteer programmes, and addressing issues related to the welfare of Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) veterans.

Wan Junaidi emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering a more caring, inclusive and united society.

Furthermore, he hoped such efforts would continue and expand to further enhance the well-being of the people and the nation’s progress.

Sarawak ATM Veteran Association’s advisor Thomas Ling and the Sarawak Customs Department deputy director Suhaimi Yusoff were also present during the meeting.
