KUCHING: The Sarawak Ulama Association (ITTIHAD) has pledged to continue strengthening the role of ‘dakwah’ institutions in educating and guiding the ummah towards unity and wellbeing.
Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar commended the association for its commitment to advancing Islamic education and building stronger ‘dakwah’ networks across the state.
He expressed hope that ITTIHAD would remain active in nurturing Islamic values and serve as a strategic partner to the government in promoting the social and spiritual development of the people.
“Close cooperation between ‘dakwah’ bodies and government agencies are essential to ensure that the message of Islam is delivered with wisdom and brings a positive impact, particularly to Sarawak’s multicultural society,” he said.
Wan Junaidi said this after receiving a courtesy call from ITTIHAD at Astana Negeri Sarawak today (Oct 21).
Also present was Wan Junaidi’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
During the meeting, ITTIHAD introduced its background, functions, and a range of educational, welfare, and ‘dakwah’ programmes aimed at benefiting the Muslim community in Sarawak.
