J Team VC serve up SIVI 2026 win

SIBU: J Team Volleyball Club of Indonesia capped off their Sarawak International Volleyball Invitation (SIVI) 2026 campaign in style after powering past Victory Volleyball Club of Hong Kong in straight sets to claim the championship title.

J Team VC produced a dominant display of attacking strength and defensive discipline to secure a convincing 3-0 victory over Victory VC.

J Team VC controlled proceedings from the opening set, taking it 25-15 before maintaining their momentum in the second set with another comfortable 25-16 win.

Victory VC attempted to fight back in the third set, but J Team VC remained composed under pressure to close out the match 25-19 and complete a dominant triumph.

The victory earned J Team VC the championship prize of USD2,000, while Victory VC finished runners-up and received USD1,000.

Spring Fox Selangor secured third place and a USD500 prize after defeating NOVA Volleyball Club 3-1 in the third-place playoff.

The tournament, which ran from July 4 to 7, featured five teams comprising 68 players from Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong. The competing teams were J Team Indonesia (14 players), NOVA Volleyball Club (12), Sarawak SUKMA (14), Spring Fox Selangor (14) and Victory Volleyball Club (14).

This brought the total number of participating athletes to 68, close to 70 players, with teams from Malaysia and abroad competing in a high-level volleyball showcase while strengthening the sport’s presence in Sarawak.

SIVI 2026 also provided valuable exposure for local players, particularly the Sarawak SUKMA squad, as they tested themselves against regional opponents ahead of upcoming competitions.

Also present at the prize-giving ceremony were Malaysia Volleyball Association (MAVA) president Datuk Moh Wung Ming, who is also chairman of the Sarawak Volleyball Association (SAVA), and SAVA president Tan Sri Datuk Sri Moh Wung Sing.
