KUCHING: Officers from the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) will have the opportunity to participate in overseas university training programmes in the future.
Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, said the initiative aims to enhance the skills of civil servants in addressing the increasingly complex challenges of the future.
“God-willing, we will include officers from the Islamic Religious Department to participate in programmes at Henley University (Henley Business School) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the future.
“This step is intended to prepare civil servants to face new challenges and meet the demands of an increasingly complex administrative environment,” he said when speaking at the Gathering with the Sarawak State Secretary at the Sarawak Islamic Complex here today.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) President, Datuk Misnu Taha, said strengthening human capital is crucial to ensure Islamic agency staff remain relevant, competitive and capable of meeting current demands.
He said continuous empowerment and development of human capital among staff of Islamic agencies must be given attention to enhance individual capabilities and service quality.
“We hope Islamic agencies will also be given the opportunity to participate should there be programmes to send government staff to overseas institutions,” he said.
