Jalan Kempas death identified as sudden death

KUCHING: The case of a man found dead in a double-storey house at Jalan Kempas here on Saturday has been classified as a sudden death.

Kuching police chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, said the body was discovered after police responded to a public complaint of a foul odour coming from the residence at around 12:05 pm.

“Upon arrival, our personnel found a man in a seated position and unconscious on the living room floor.

“Paramedics from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) later confirmed that he had died at the scene,” he said.

The deceased has been identified as a local Chinese man, believed to be in his 60s.

His body has been sent to SGH’s Forensic Department for a post-mortem.

Alexson urged the public not to speculate on the incident to respect the sensitivity of the victim’s family.
