KUCHING: Both carriageways of Jalan Padungan in front of the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Boulevard here will be temporarily closed from 5 am to approximately 8 am this Sunday to facilitate the Kuching Half Marathon Heritage Run 2026.
Organiser City Jogger’s Club, in a statement, said the temporary road closure is necessary to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers and road users during the event.
“Motorists are strongly advised to plan their journeys ahead of time and use the alternative routes during the road closure period via Jalan Ang Cheng Ho and Jalan Tan Sri Datuk William Tan.
“Road users are also requested to comply with all directions given by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), enforcement officers, and event marshals who will be stationed throughout the affected areas to assist with traffic management,” it said today.
The organiser apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their patience, cooperation and understanding.
The Kuching Half Marathon Heritage Run 2026 is expected to attract thousands of runners from Malaysia and abroad, promoting healthy living, heritage and community spirit while showcasing Kuching as a sporting and tourism destination.
