TOKYO: Boeing Japan has welcomed opportunities for collaboration explored with the Sarawak government.
Boeing has a significant presence in Japan where it has partnerships and collaborations with various Japanese companies and institutions in the aerospace industry. Additionally, Boeing has customers in Japan who purchase its commercial airplanes, military aircraft, and other products.
Its president Eric G John said he was very excited to meet Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who has a clear and compelling vision regarding the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for the aviation industry.
According to him, Boeing is ready to support the Premier’s vision for the future benefit of the aviation sector as a whole.
“First of all, we are very excited to meet the Premier of Sarawak. Some things that particularly interest me are, firstly, his vision for sustainable aviation and sustainable fuel in Malaysia.
“Secondly, his vision for developing Sarawak, and as someone who has spent a lot of time in Southeast Asia, I stand behind and support his ideas,” he said.
He said this when asked by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) and TVS after discussions with the Premier and the Sarawak government delegation here today (Dec 17).
Eric also said other matters discussed was the opportunity to explain how Boeing can grow alongside Sarawak and what can be done to contribute to that vision.
“So, this is a great opportunity for us to discuss today,” he said.
