KUCHING: A renewable energy (RE) forum themed ‘When the Hornbill and Mount Fuji Get Together’ will be held on November 26.
The event, organised by Yamada Consulting and Spire Pte Ltd, will take place at the Majestic Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., featuring an opening speech by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“People may be curious as to why I akin Hornbills to Mount Fuji. I say it because it is about the coming together of the great minds of two peoples who have strong visions about environmental sustainability and green economy,” said Managing Director of Yamada Consulting and Spire (ASEAN & India) based in Singapore, Go Sakano, when explaining the theme.
Sakano said Yamada Consulting, an international, public-listed Japanese firm, with offices in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, aims to strengthen collaborations in the region through the Yamada International RE Forum 2025.
The forum brings together major industry players, including Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Corporation, Tobo Gas Co. Ltd, Tokyo Power Technologies, and Dans Energy (India), with the objective of connecting them to Sarawak’s local supply chains in the RE sector.
“Aside from sharing knowledge and expertise, this forum will be focused on networking and connecting with the local SMEs that are interested and are investment-ready to partner with large corporations from Japan, Thailand and India. We can help the Sarawak Government in realising some of its key goals in PCDS 2030,” he said.
“It is the hope of Yamada that more international corporations will invest in Sarawak, as promoted by the Premier of Sarawak. As you know, the Premier has recently been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Stars honours by Emperor Naruhito for the Premier’s role in promoting ties between Sarawak and Japan in the Renewable Energy space,” he pointed out.
The forum will also feature successful local companies and international speakers, including Titan Energy, RINA, Solarvest, Advance Energy Solutions, and others.
“Sarawak is a rising star ever since it launched its PCDS 2030, showing that the state government has a clear vision to become a regional leader in the renewable energy and green economy sector,” said Sakano.
The organisers are opening limited invitations to 25-30 Sarawak firms in the RE supply chain to attend the exclusive, by-invitation-only forum.
