KUCHING: The Junior Chambers International (JCI) Padawan is aiming to expand its membership to 300 by 2028, said its local president Alaric Sim.

Currently, Sim said that 80 per cent of the chapter’s members are business owners based in Kuching.

“Our membership is open to individuals aged 18 to 40, where we focus on leadership development for young professionals and entrepreneurs.

“In addition to expanding its network, the chapter is actively seeking collaborations with other NGOs to create a greater impact on society,” he said.

He said this at a sharing session during the chapter’s visit to TEGAS Digital Village recently where members explored potential collaborations with the Sarawak government-backed initiative.

During the visit, senior manager of TEGAS Community Innovative Learning (TCIL) Fredick Kevin Buseli provided an overview of TEGAS’ history and its ongoing programmes for 2025.

He emphasised TEGAS’ role in fostering digital entrepreneurship among Sarawakian youth through government-funded initiatives.

The visit allowed JCI Padawan members to gain insights into TEGAS’ facilities and programmes, paving the way for future partnerships in leadership and entrepreneurship development.
