KUCHING: JCI Padawan, in collaboration with Hive and Tropics City, is set to host the latest edition of its Embrace Programme, featuring the Embrace Market, a pop-up marketplace designed to support both seasoned and first-time vendors.

The initiative aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with a platform to test their products and gain hands-on experience in the vendor space while fostering innovation and business growth.

Beyond entrepreneurship, this year’s Embrace Programme will also emphasise environmental responsibility, youth empowerment, and community engagement.

“With each edition of the Embrace Programme, our goal is to create a meaningful impact. This time, we hope to inspire the community to take better care of the environment while continuing to empower young individuals and businesses,” said JCI Padawan president Alaric Sim in a statement today (Mar 23).

As part of this initiative, Tropics City, a development by Regal International, is evolving into a vibrant hub where the community plays a key role in shaping its identity.

“Designed as a blank canvas, Tropics City is set to become a place where stories, memories, and creativity come to life,” said Nicholas Wong, developer of Tropics City and executive director of Regal International.

A mural competition is currently underway to bring this vision to fruition, inviting local artists and residents to leave their mark on the building’s pillars while providing a unique opportunity for the community to express their stories through art and foster a sense of belonging and collective creativity.
