KUCHING: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have confirmed a high-stakes pre-season clash with EFL Championship side Cardiff City during their European training camp in Spain next month.

The friendly, scheduled between July 3 and 22, adds to a growing list of international fixtures as the Southern Tigers ramp up preparations ahead of the Malaysian Super League’s second leg.

“Having last week announced JDT’s friendly against Levante UD during the pre-season, the Southern Tigers will be announcing more friendly matches in Spain soon,” the club posted today via official channels.

Cardiff City, who boast Premier League pedigree, are expected to field a strong line-up – offering JDT a stern test on foreign soil.

The encounter follows JDT’s stated ambition to regularly challenge themselves against reputable overseas sides.

Set against the backdrop of Spain’s competitive football climate, the match promises to be more than a warm-up.

It’s a litmus test of JDT’s depth, tempo, and tactical sharpness.
