KUCHING: A free community health screening programme, ‘Jejak Kanser’, will be held this Saturday (November 22), to help raise awareness on cancer and encourage early detection.

According to a statement, the initiative is jointly organised by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s (MRC) Stampin Branch and Deemcee Saradise Kuching, in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia.

The programme will take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Tropics City, Jalan Tabuan Dayak, in front of Doremart.

The programme will offer lung and liver cancer risk assessments, breast cancer screening, and basic health screening, giving members of the public an opportunity to better understand their health status and seek early intervention where necessary.

“Early detection saves lives. Through ‘Jejak Kanser’, we hope to reach more members of the community and provide them with accessible screening opportunities that could make a difference in their health journey,” said Chew Kim Soon, Chairman of the MRCS Stampin Branch.

The organisers said the initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to promote preventive healthcare and empower the community to take proactive steps to manage cancer risk through awareness, screening, and follow-up care.

For further enquiries, members of the public may contact Imelda Kumang at 019 847 6542 or Wendy at 019 818 2244.
