SARIKEI: The ‘Jelajah Ramadan Kuala Rajang’ programme continues to draw strong community support, reaffirming its role as a key platform in strengthening ties between leadership and the grassroots since its inception in 2011.

Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment and Kuala Rajang state assemblyman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, expressed gratitude for the encouraging response from the Muslim community throughout the constituency.

He said the programme not only enlivens mosques during the month of Ramadan but also serves as an important avenue to foster closer relationships between leaders and the people.

Len Talif was speaking while continuing the ‘Jelajah Ramadan’ series at Masjid Darul Saadah here on Tuesday.

This year’s tour began last Friday at Kampung Bukit Kinyau in Tanjung Manis before proceeding to Kampung Belawai, Kampung Jerijih and Kampung Rajang.

For the Sarikei zone, the programme includes visits to Masjid Al-Mutaqqin and Masjid Ar-Rahmah, and concludes at Masjid Al Ansar in Kampung Selalang today.

During the visits, Len Talif also inspected facilities at mosques and surau across the Kuala Rajang constituency to assess areas requiring upgrades to ensure the comfort of congregants.

He stressed that the Sarawak Government’s commitment extends beyond mosques and surau to all houses of worship, regardless of religion, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote harmony and inclusive development in the state.

The ‘Jelajah Ramadan’ programme remains a relevant and effective medium in bringing leadership closer to the people, in line with Sarawak’s aspiration for inclusive growth and community wellbeing.
