BINTULU: Demonstrating care and solidarity with the victims of the recent fire in Kampung Sebuan Besar, Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee stepped in to provide assistance for school-related needs to the affected children.
In an initiative carried out on Thursday, Iskandar was joined by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Jepak Women chief Noriha Ali.
Together, they accompanied four families of fire victims to purchase new school equipment, easing the children’s return to their studies.
A total of seven children received support in the form of school uniforms and stationery, ensuring they can resume their education without disruption.
“Alhamdulillah, today we had the opportunity to help ease the burden of these families.

“We hope the children can continue learning in a more comfortable environment and not fall behind in their education,” said Iskandar.
He also encouraged any family who has not yet received assistance to come forward to the Jepak assemblyman’s People’s Service Centre to obtain the support they need.
“Thank you to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his continuous concern and emphasis on the importance of leaders reaching out and supporting people in times of hardship,” he added.
The fire, which broke out last Tuesday, destroyed six homes in Kampung Sebuan Besar, Jepak.
A total of 26 residents were left without shelter and lost most of their belongings, including school supplies.
