BINTULU: Youth in the Jepak constituency here are urged to seize the opportunity to pursue studies in vocational education to strengthen technical skills in line with current industry demands.

Jepak Assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, said this is crucial to ensure that young people in the area have a brighter future through skill training offered by various institutions such as Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM), Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC), and Vocational Colleges.

“Our office has established collaborations with several skill training institutions to provide a platform for unemployed youth,” he said.

“They can undergo technical training and may be offered employment upon completion.”

Iskandar said this during the Ngabang Gawai programme held at Rumah Joshua Manit, Sungai Setiam, KM36 Bintulu-Tatau Road, today.

He added that interested youths can contact the Youth Chief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) N67 Jepak, Frankey Sibat, who is responsible for managing the cooperation programmes with the training institutions.

“I urge our young generation, including the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the residents here, to take this opportunity to build a better future,” he added,

Iskandar also called on women’s bureaus in longhouses to continue working closely with PBB N67 Jepak Women Chief, Noriha Ali, in empowering the digital economy and developing Agro Park projects in the area.

He added that such efforts are expected to bring long-term benefits to the rural community in Jepak and ensure they too can enjoy the fruits of local economic development.
