PADAWAN: A total of 25 organisations in the Mambong constituency received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants amounting to RM923,600 under Phase 2/2026, in a continued push to strengthen grassroots development.
The handover ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister for Transport (Aviation and Road) and Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil at the Padawan Sub-District Office on Thursday (Apr 23).
Dr Jerip said the MRP allocations are now disbursed directly into recipients’ accounts via the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) system, in line with existing procedures to ensure transparency and efficiency.
“I remind all recipients to check their respective accounts immediately and report any delays or payment issues,” he said in his speech as reported by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).
Dr Jerip also emphasised the need for proper documentation and reporting on how the funds are utilised, particularly for organisations receiving larger allocations.
He said monitoring will be carried out by relevant authorities, including the Sarawak Ombudsman Unit.
At the same time, he revealed that the state government is targeting full disbursement of the 2026 MRP allocation by June, ensuring that no community is left behind.
The MRP assistance is distributed inclusively across various groups from villages and churches to associations provided that applications are submitted through the proper channels and meet the required criteria.
“This reflects our commitment to deliver on development promises within the stipulated timeframe,” he added.
