SERIAN: Cooperation between Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) and residents must be enhanced for smooth development.

Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben said the JKKK acts as a facilitator and is an essential link between the Sarawak government and the community.

“The JKKK should be more proactive and play a more effective role in managing their respective villages.

“Planning and implementation of action plans should be carried out by the local JKKK to ensure that village development is geared towards creating an advanced and beneficial village in whatever activities are undertaken,” he said  in his speech at the presentation of JKKK appointment letter for Kampung Pridan here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, on the Greater Kuching Coordination Development Agency (GKCDA), he said the GKCDA will implement a new agricultural road (jalan pertanian) construction project in Kedup constituency.

The Kedup assemblyman  urged the residents to cooperate with the GKCDA to ensure the project is carried out smoothly as it will benefit the local residents.
