BAU: Forty-nine people were appointed as Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) secretaries for the Tasik Biru Constituency while eight were appointed as JKKK secretaries for the Opar Constituency.
They received their appointment letters during the presentation of appointment letters to the secretaries of JKKK Bau District at Bau Civic Centre on Saturday (Oct 10). Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep officiated at the event.
The newly appointed secretaries thanked the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government, their respective village chiefs and villages for entrusting them with the job.
AHMEKA JOMIS (JKKK Kampung Bau Lama secretary) ‘As the JKKK secretary, I will help to develop the village. This can be done through planned meetings and activities as well as conveying important information to the villagers.’ 
ROZIANA BAGUH (JKKK Tembawang Sauh secretary) ‘As the JKKK secretary, my job is to assist the community leader in carrying out development plans for the village. I will also carry out what are discussed in the JKKK meetings.’
ANNA MADRAN WENDA (JKKK Kampung Bobak Sajong secretary) ‘I want to thank the GPS government for giving me this opportunity. I have served as the JKKK secretary for more than 10 years. I will do my best to work with the chief to further develop the village.’ 
JUPEI TAEIK (JKKK Kampung Stass secretary) ‘I am proud to be appointed as the JKKK secretary. Although the job will not be easy, I will do my best.’
