PUTRAJAYA: Muay Thai fighter Johan “Jojo” Ghazali paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Perdana Putra today (Oct 8).

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Adam Adli who accompanied the athlete, said the meeting was more than just a formal visit as it symbolised national recognition of a young fighter’s determination and spirit.

“This visit is not merely a meeting, but a moment to celebrate the journey of a young Malaysian with a big heart. Jojo is an icon of youth who has made the country proud on the world stage,” said Adam in a Facebook post.

He added that the visit is aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s Muay Thai development and creating more opportunities for young talents to compete internationally.

“The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) remains committed to empowering Muay Thai at both local and international levels. We are focused on nurturing young talent and building a more structured training ecosystem to develop this combat sport holistically,” he said.
