KUCHING: The Sarawak government has donated RM100,000 to the Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA) to organise the Kenyalang Journalism Award (KJA) 2023.
FSJA president Andy Jong said the allocation is in addition to the sponsorship given by their ‘gold’ KJA sponsors, namely Shell, Petronas, and Sarawak Energy who each gave RM50,000.
“Our courtesy visit to the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg here today was to invite him to officiate at the KJA ceremony which will be held at Pullman Hotel Miri on Nov 24,” he said after a courtesy visit on the Premier at Wisma Bapa here today.
He added that the entries for KJA this year closes on Sept 8.
“Similar to previous years, there are 11 categories. And each journalist can only send a maximum of four entries, including individuals or groups articles, published between Sept 1, 2022 and Aug 31 this year,” he said.
Entry forms can be obtained from members of the KJA 2023 committee as well as journalists’ associations in their respective areas.
The forms can be obtained through the Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA), Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA), North Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA), Sibu Journalists Association (SJA) and Institute of Rejang Journalists (IRJ) or downloaded on google drive at
“This year, the entry forms need to be sent to the relevant journalists’ associations in their respective areas, namely KDJA for Kuching, SJA/IRJ (Sibu) and FSJA Miri (Miri / Bintulu).”
