JPJ inspects 349 vehicles during monitoring enforcement

SIBU: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu Branch Operations Unit has recently implemented the Commercial Vehicle and Daily Ops through patrol and monitoring enforcement as well as static enforcement at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg around Sibu town.

Throughout the operation, a total of 349 vehicles consisting of commercial and private vehicles were inspected.

According to its press statement today (Feb 3), the inspection resulted in various offences detected including drivers not having a vocational driving license, not having a valid driving license, not wearing a seat belt and other offences involving technical aspects of the vehicle.

In addition, one vehicle was seized due to expired road tax and no insurance coverage.

“JPJ Sarawak will continue to intensify enforcement activities from time to time to ensure the safety of road users and to increase the level of compliance according to the law,” the statement added.
