KOTA Kinabalu, Sabah: Sabah FC has officially appointed former national Under-23 head coach, Juan Torres Garrido, as the team’s new head coach, the club manager, Mohd Arziz Afizy, announced on Wednesday.
The Spaniard will assume the duties currently assigned to acting head coach, Alto Linus, who filled the position temporarily following the resignation of Jean-Paul de Marigny in December.
“Juan Torres will start with the match against Negeri Sembilan FC at Likas Stadium this Saturday,” he said.
Arziz hoped that the new coach would be able to bring positive changes to the team and help improve their league standings this season.
“Our main focus is to get to the final of the MFL Challenge Cup 2025-2026,” he said.
Arziz also hoped that the players would give their full commitment, show good discipline, and adapt quickly to the training approaches introduced.
“With strong team spirit and everyone’s determination, I’m confident Sabah FC can achieve better results,” he said. – BERNAMA
