KUCHING: Utility and Telecommunication Minister, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, praised the effective collaboration and communication among ministry officials and elected representatives during the recent Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting.
Speaking at an appreciation event held in conjunction with the DUN sitting and the upcoming Gawai celebration at the Waterfront Hotel on Monday, Julaihi thanked all parties involved from the question-and-answer session to the delivery of his winding-up speech.
He noted a significant drop in the number of questions directed to his ministry this session, attributing it to improved engagement efforts with assembly members.
“I believe this is the result of our proactive communication, whether through our WhatsApp group chats or direct interactions with department heads and ministry officials,” he said.
Julaihi stressed that fostering closer ties with elected representatives had enabled the ministry to share accurate and timely information regarding its various initiatives.
“Our aim has always been to ensure that the facts and updates from the ministry are conveyed clearly and accurately,” he added.
Thanks to this open and responsive approach, he said, government departments and agencies under his purview had performed excellently in responding to issues and queries.
“We have managed to address challenges, whether on the ground or related to water supply, electricity, liquefied petroleum gas, or telecommunications, through a combination of clear communication and strong teamwork,” he said.
Julaihi also expressed gratitude to the entire team for their professionalism and dedication.
Also present at the event was Deputy Minister, Datuk Ibrahim Baki.
