KUCHING: The late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang is being remembered as a woman of quiet strength and unwavering support whose presence left a lasting impact on Sarawak’s leadership and society.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri described Juma’ani, the wife of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, as a graceful yet influential figure whose steady support played a pivotal role behind the scenes of the state’s leadership.

“Behind the great success of a leader stands a resilient and loyal wife.

“Juma’ani was a calm yet powerful force who supported the Premier in silence, with unwavering strength and dignity,” she said in her statement.

Juma’ani passed away at 3.34am today (June 23) at Normah Medical Centre here.

Nancy said her passing is not only a personal loss to the Premier and their family, but also a significant loss to the Sarawakians

“Her maternal qualities, gentle leadership, and quiet contributions will be remembered not just by her loved ones, but by the wider public who were touched directly or indirectly by her grace and compassion,” she added.

Nancy extended her deepest condolences to the Premier and the family, praying they be granted strength in facing this difficult time.

“May her soul be showered with blessings and placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” she said.
