KUCHING: Three projects under the tourism and environmental sectors, with a combined estimated cost of RM27.4 million, have been planned for implementation in Kabong state constituency.
Kabong Assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Chee Kadir, who also chairs the Tourism and Environment Sector Committee of the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA), said the three initiatives were part of 11 projects discussed during the committee’s meeting chaired by him at Baitulmakmur 2 today.
“The three key projects planned for Kabong are the upgrading of facilities at Tanjung Kembang Beach with an estimated cost of RM10 million, the proposed construction of a food court and homestay at the same location for RM15.9 million, and the upgrading of riverbank infrastructure at Sungai Seblak estimated at RM1.5 million,” he added.
“All three projects are currently at the planning stage and are part of the Sarawak Government’s efforts through BDDA to strengthen the rural tourism sector in a sustainable and inclusive manner.”
Mohd Chee stated that strong cooperation and commitment from all implementing agencies involved is crucial to ensure the smooth and timely execution of the projects.
“We want the people to benefit from these initiatives as soon as possible,” he said.
“Therefore, I urge all relevant parties to prioritise the implementation so that the impact reaches the local community quickly and effectively.”
