BINTULU: Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has praised the proactive role of the Kampung Assyakirin Phase 3 Neighbourhood Watch Area (KRT) in fostering harmony and unity within the local community.

He described the organisation as “the heart of efforts to instil values of togetherness and wellbeing at the community level.”

According to Tiong, various initiatives such as gotong-royong (communal work), awareness talks, and welfare programmes conducted by KRT Kampung Assyakirin Phase 3 clearly show how unity can create harmony and collective progress.

“Our society, comprised of various ethnicities and religions, is a strength, not a weakness.

“Kampung Assyakirin Phase 3 has been an outstanding example of how this spirit of unity can transform a community for the better,” he said.

He conveyed this through a speech read by his special duties officer, Steven Kong Kai Seng, at the KRT Kampung Assyakirin Phase 3 appreciation ceremony on Sunday (Dec 29).

He also recognised the efforts of KRT volunteers, whom he described as “community heroes”, for playing a significant role in improving the quality of life for residents despite often going unnoticed.

He emphasised that unity is the most valuable asset in facing current challenges and pledged to continue supporting such community initiatives.

“I hope this event marks the beginning of a new era where Kampung Assyakirin Phase 3 becomes a model of a united and progressive community. Congratulations to everyone who made this programme a success,” he added.

KRT Kampung Assyakirin Phase 3 chairman Drahman Jus and Bintulu Division KRT coordinator chairman Awang Modihi Awang Yatim were present.
