SERIAN: The Sarawak government has allocated RM200,000 for a football pitch in Kampung Daha Kisau Tebedu.
According to Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada, the village youth have long dreamed of having their own football pitch, and this year the Sarawak government has fulfilled their wish.
“I believe the new football pitch will provide facilities for the youth to engage in various sports activities in addition to playing football every evening,” he said when met by reporters during the ground-breaking ceremony recently.
He said the RM200,000 grant will cover the construction of the pitch, including the paving of roads and the installation of drainage systems.
“The project is expected to take five months to complete,” he added.
Also present were Serian Public Works Department (JKR) engineer Martina Aisan, Tebedu District Officer Noor Shahfriena Ramzi, councillors Georgie Lampaah and Diye Nyambung.
