PADAWAN: The Kampung Emperoh Jambu community hall here has undergone a major facelift following the completion of a RM1 million upgrading project, which was fully completed in February 2026.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), a site visit was conducted to assess the project’s final progress and the readiness of the facility before its official handover to the local community.
The project, which commenced in May 2025, involved comprehensive improvement works covering the building’s structure, safety features and user comfort.
“The upgrading works were aimed at enhancing the functionality of the community hall as a centre for social, community and local development activities.
“The site visit also included the implementation of a Pre-Completion and Compliance Inspection to ensure all construction and finishing works met the required specifications and standards,” Ukas said in a statement.
The inspection process involved the agreement of the Kampung Emperoh Jambu Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), as the project owner and community representative, to ensure the completed facility met the needs of residents.
Upon completion, the upgraded community hall is expected to provide significant benefits to Kampung Emperoh Jambu residents by offering a more conducive venue for community programmes, meetings and social activities.
